Monthly Musings (September 2023)

I am very familiar with Dr. Mandy Cohen. She served as the Director of the NC Department of Health and Human Services during the pandemic. Now she is the Director of the Centers for Disease Control. Recently she announced that the Centers for Disease Control is poised to recommend an annual COVID vaccine. Is anyone going to listen? The federal government has now learned that it does not prevent COVID. (Us deplorables knew it all along.)

Disney has not learned a thing from the backlash they received last year. According to a recent report, the company recently hired a gay porn star for the live action remake of “The Little Mermaid.” The report claims that the hiring was an accident. They expect us to believe that a company as big as Disney cannot run a simple background check? Yeah, right.

Have you ever heard about someone “giving away the keys to the kingdom”? I recently heard a story about Amazon shutting down a man’s “smart home” after a delivery man reported that his automated doorbell made a racist comment. Further investigation proved no such comments were made. I will not give Big Tech the keys to my house. I will just stick with an old-fashioned metal lock-and-key, thanks.

Did you hear about the Starbucks manager who was fired by Starbucks due to her race? A jury just awarded her $25.6 million in damages after finding that she was fired because she was white. Go woke, go broke.

I love our great military. I am disappointed that confidence in the U.S. military is at its lowest point in 26 years according to a recent poll. “Woke culture” at the top of the ranks is not giving the American people a sense of confidence.

The United States has 1.3 million lawyers. We have more lawyers than any country in the world. More than massive countries like Indian and China. What does that say about laws when you need a doctoral level degree to follow them?

The Bud Light boycott cost Anheuser Busch $395 million. That’s an expensive lesson. Do you think they learned much from it?

The Biden Administrations’ Department of Energy is obsessed with taking away your gas stove. A new report indicates that any savings would be negligible. Not good news for the Administration. But has that stopped them? Since when does the cost of anything stop bureaucrats in Washington?

Every month enough Fentanyl crosses our border to kill every single American. In June alone, U.S. Customs and Border Protection seized more than 2,100 pounds of illegal Fentanyl.

Fake meat, lab meat, may actually use more energy than old-fashioned beef. A UC Davis team discovered that the impact on global warming of the lab based meat is four to twenty five times greater than the average for retail beef,

Elite universities are strategizing to maintain affirmative action. Even though the Supreme Court has said “raced-based admissions” are a violation of the Constitution. These schools are now finding a “work around” to continue to discriminate as they have for generations. They just do not get it. America is the most diverse place in the world. This country does not make decisions based on race anymore.

The Federal Reserve announced that household debt has climbed above $17 trillion. The average U.S. household owes a total of $143,762. Wallet Hub confirmed that this is only $14,000 below the point at which consumers will reach the breaking point, the point where they will not be able to repay their debts.

Two professors from MIT and Princeton present evidence that the Environmental Protection Agency is presenting a lot of political opinions that are not scientifically accurate in their rule-making processes.

“The unscientific method of analysis, relying on consensus, peer review, government opinion, models that do not work, cherry-picking data and omitting voluminous contradictory data, is commonly employed in these studies and by the EPA in the Proposed Rule,” Mr. Happer and Mr. Lindzen wrote. “None of the studies provides scientific knowledge, and thus none provides any scientific support for the Proposed Rule.”

The problem, of course, is that left-wing political opinions are often later proven to be wrong. Can we please follow the science?
