President Biden held a star-studded fundraiser in New York and raised $25 million. Trump held a fundraiser at Mar-a-Lago and raised $50 million. President Biden is still way ahead in the campaign funds race.
Should squatters have rights? This problem is sweeping the nation and it is crazy. Someone can move into your property without your permission, and in some cases, it can take forever to have them removed. New York is one of the worst places because they have local laws that give special rights to the squatter. I will write more about this in a later column.
President Biden is trying once again to forgive $1.2 billion in student loan debt. After being told by the Supreme Court that he doesn’t have the authority, he is trying to do an end around and come at it through another door. This cannot happen. Will future students be satisfied with paying off debts today for students and running up bills for themselves in the future. This will be a never-ending problem. Once it’s started, you cannot go back.
New York mayor, Eric Adams, has set up a program for migrants in the city. It will give migrants up to $10,000 each in taxpayer money with no ID checks, no restrictions, and no fraud control. This is so crazy, you just know it has to be government run.
The Southern Border is still broken, in the worst way. Illegal immigrants are pouring in by the millions. Texas is doing all they can to stop the flow, but the federal government keeps tying their hands. Lawsuits are going back and forth from all sides. President Biden keeps insisting that he can’t do anything without Congress passing his sweeping bill. He can simply go back to the Trump policies, which he threw out his first day in office. The border was secure and Border Patrol agents weren’t being physically attacked as they have been recently.
During the Covid pandemic, support for socialism among those 16 to 23 years old jumped to 49%. Socialism also increased in popularity among all age groups. This should scare us all. Too many Americans, especially our young people, have no idea what socialism really is. If they knew there is no way it could be supported by this number of Americans.
Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology is a magnet school in northern Virginia. Until 2020, admission was based on standardized test scores, a merit based system that produced a high school ranked number one in the nation. TJ’s racial makeup was 73% Asian American, and the percentages of African American and Latino students were in the single digits. You can guess what happened. The entrance requirements were changed and the new policy guaranteed admission to 1.5% of all eighth graders from every school in the district. Lawsuits have been filed, of course.
It’s hard to believe that a member of the Kennedy family is challenging the Democrat party. RFK Jr. has mounted a campaign that appears to be drawing traction. He makes a lot of sense on many fronts and some are just tired of rhetoric from both parties. I can’t help but think this has to be a nightmare for the Biden campaign. Some analysts think that Kennedy will take votes away from both Democrats and Republicans. I can’t see it. The Kennedy name is synonymous with Democrats. The family has been one of the most familiar names within Democrat circles for generations.
After being forced by a federal judge, the CDC has released 780,000 reports of adverse events occurring after receiving the Covid 19 vaccination. This previously hidden information revealed facial paralysis, heart inflammation, miscarriages, seizures and a list of other adverse events. Why can’t the government just be honest for a change?
