Lies, Damned Lies, and “Journalism”

Mark Twain once said, “If you don’t read the newspaper, you are uninformed. If you do, you’re misinformed.” I’m not speaking about the paper you’re reading now. The Kernersville News is not part of the Mainstream Media. Mark Twain said that a long time ago when we still had some honest reporters practicing real Journalism and before the network news channels were around. He would be appalled today.

Our media today doesn’t even pretend to be unbiased anymore. They have pretty much quit pretending to be doing honest reporting. They have an agenda and honest reporting is not one of their goals.

I’ve said many times, the only time the msm does its job, is when there’s a Republican in the White House. That’s not even true anymore. We experienced the gutter tactics of many in the press during the Trump years. They peddled the story about Russia and the dossier during the entire four years that Trump was president. The media has finally acknowledged that none of it was true.

Many of us knew, if one bothered to do any fact finding of their own, that the dossier was paid for by the Clinton Campaign. It was a “Hoax” of the worst kind and has been completely debunked. Had the MSM bothered to investigate, this “hoax” could have been stopped and saved the country a tremendous amount of money and aggravation.

Our law enforcement agencies were a part of it as well. With arrests having taken place in this case now, perhaps the media will finally report it. Don’t count on it.

There has also been a big coverup going on where President Biden and his son Hunter are concerned. If the facts of this issue had been honestly covered, Biden would not be president today, I’m convinced. Finally, the press has started talking about the Hunter Biden story and at some point, perhaps they will actually admit the true facts.

For two years, we have been told, there’s no proof of wrongdoing by Hunter or Joe Biden. Many even tried to deny the laptop existed and if it did, it wasn’t Hunters. Nothing to see here, move along.

Recently, the story has changed, and some are paying attention. This leads one to believe that there may be indictments getting ready to happen. So now our friends in the press may be trying to save face, just a little.

President Biden repeatedly claimed he had never discussed his son’s business dealings with him. Most of us knew that didn’t sound reasonable, but no interest in pursuit from the press.

Reports out this week show that Hunter’s business partner visited the White House 19 times to speak with Joe Biden or his staff. An email discovered in Hunter’s laptop from his business partner said, “Your dad just called me (about his mortgage) and mentioned that he’d be out a lot soon and not really back until Labor Day….. He could use some positive news about his future earning potential.” The MSM has had little mention of this finding. The networks spent 22 seconds informing the public of this recent finding.

These are the kinds of misdeeds that the press should be investigating and uncovering. Instead, we find them suppressing the facts.

When complaints began emerging regarding Critical Race Theory, the compliant members of the press claimed it was untrue. We were told this was a claim from right wing extremists and CRT was not part of any curriculum. Parents came out in droves to prove this big lie being portrayed by media. Then parents were called “terrorists” for daring to speak up.

There’s a crisis at our border. If you watch mainstream media channels, you probably don’t know that. During the Trump presidency, there was a lot of focus on the border. We were told that immigrants were being mistreated and children were being housed in cages. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez visited the border and made a huge display of her outrage. Media buzzed for quite some time about this horrid situation. Of course, it was finally pointed out that these were cages put in place during the Obama/Biden presidency. Little was said about it after that.

Record breaking numbers of illegal immigrants are flooding into our country under the Biden administration. The press should be detailing the horrendous crisis that is taking place. Some border Governors are now stepping up to start curtailing the influx into their states as best they can.

We all remember the cover up by the media on the Wuhan lab leak. We were told the virus originated in a wet market and was transferred from bats. Eventually, the truth came out, but the media has never bothered to really report the facts regarding this tragedy.

Nothing has shown the media bias more than Covid stories and the censoring of anything that wasn’t approved by the CDC, Fauci, the administration, etc. Scientists who didn’t agree with everything being said by the appropriate authorities were ridiculed and discredited. Instead of having honest debate and hearing all valid points of view, those who disagreed were shut out.

Big tech was a huge culprit in this censorship. Many were shut down from social media sites by daring to question authorities over various protocols.

This is a dangerous path. The job of the media is to shine the light so people can find their way. Instead we have seen the media turn off the lights and blindfold the people.
