Do you remember the Helen Reddy song of the 1980s, “I am woman, hear me roar?” What happened to pride in being a woman and being different than a man? Where are the Women’s’ groups on the issue of the degender movement, specifically? There is one group, Women’s Human Rights Campaign that is speaking out. NOW, is very supportive of this ill-conceived movement.
A writer in the Wall Street Journal recently talked about having breast cancer. The medical staff preferred to call it “chest cancer.” Everybody has a chest and that makes everyone feel more comfortable, or so they think. This particular “woman” was offended by the gesture.
Many corporations and government agencies have gone out of their way to degender employees. Instead of women, we are now “birthing people” or “menstruating people.” The Biden Administrations’ budget referred to “birthing people.” The World Health Organization is doing the same. Even Harvard Medical School has declared that “all who give birth are not women.” It’s frightening to think what they are teaching these young medical students.
I received a letter this week from the Cooper Administration referencing “women” as birthing people. Why can’t we say “women” anymore?
Some hospitals have gone so far as to refer to breast feeding as chest feeding or body feeding. They also refer to human milk. Which humans does it come from? Apparently, that’s a word that shouldn’t be used.
The ACLU recently apologized for misquoting Ruth Bader Ginsberg, by changing her words. The translation said, “The decision whether or not to bear a child is central to a (persons) life to (their) well being and dignity.” The word woman was changed in the quote. I guess it was too dirty a word to use.
J.K. Rowling was pilloried for making a comment about this issue. She said, “I refuse to bow down to a movement that I believe is doing demonstrable harm in seeking to erode ‘woman’ as a political and biological class and offering cover to predators like few before it.” She has been dubbed a TERF, trans-exclusionary radical feminists.
Where does this craziness stop? By having no sex specific language, we eliminate what it means to be a man or a woman. There are some who identify themselves as non-human. University of Cambridge has done research on these “otherkins.” What will we do with these folks. I swear it’s true, you just can’t make this stuff up.
What’s most frightening to me about all this craziness is that now the medical profession is being corrupted by this nonsense. Will we no longer have uterine cancer, ovarian cancer, etc? Perhaps we will only have lower body cancer or pelvic cancer.
The Healthcare industry has become very “woke”. Too many doctors have been immersed into the big corporate structure. Many are no longer able to practice as a doctor/patient relationship. They are required to watch out for the bottom line.
I’m a businesswoman. I know all about the bottom line and paying the bills. But we must never lose our focus. The goal is to provide the best health care possible to each individual patient.
A well respected British Medical Journal put “Bodies with Vaginas” on its cover. It was referring to a story, “Periods on Display.” It was about an exhibit about the history of menstruation at the Vagina Museum in London.
Women have battled furiously, through many years, to be recognized as more than a series of body parts. We have come full circle and are now only recognized as defined by body parts.
Title IX was put in place to protect women’s sports. Now it’s meaningless. This blurring of the gender lines will make women’s sports obsolete. We have already seen the male swimmer at UPenn win every event, by huge margins. Why would women go to practice everyday and put in the endless hours of work and preparation if there’s no chance they will ever be able to compete.
Women are being used. When it suits the political class, women are acknowledged if it promotes the proper agenda. California Governor Gavin Newsom signed a bill last year referring to “pregnant and post partum people. After the Roe v Wade decision he said, “If men could get pregnant, this wouldn’t even be a conversation.” Which is it? Can men get pregnant or not.
We appear to have the objective to erase women so that trans people won’t be offended. If women are offended that’s too bad.
It’s not politically correct to speak out about this as J.K. Rowling discovered. I will get tons of hate mail myself. I’ll certainly be called a TERF. But it’s necessary to speak out and point out that there is a truth. And some truths are undeniable no matter how hard we try to pretend otherwise.
It’s such a simple concept. The kid in the Arnold Schwarzenegger movie “Kindergarten Cop” got it right. He said, “Girls have a vagina, boys have a penis.” It’s so simple, a kindergartener can explain it.
