Can Christians Have A Month, Too?

June is full of life. The birds are chirping. The bees are buzzing. The grass is lush and green, and the sun is shining bright. Well, some grass is green and lush. Not mine since the sprinkler quit working and parts are impossible to get.

June is also the month of the rainbow. God likes to offer us a light show after a peaceful summer shower. He promised us that He will never flood the world again. It is arguably the most powerful Christian symbol besides the cross. Have we forgotten what that means?

This decade has seen the emergence of the LGBT movement. Their ideas are in almost every public school, university, government agency, and corporation in America. When is the last time you saw a Christian symbol in a public classroom or government agency?

Watching television? Rainbow. Checking your inbox? Rainbow. Washing your car? Paying bills? Walking your dog downtown? Rainbow. Rainbow. Rainbow.

Christians are called on to spread the gospel. We are supposed to be disciples for Christ. We are not secret agents. It’s okay to proclaim your faith. Although there will be many who think you are a Nutcase. Isn’t it strange how all ideas, no matter how wacky, are celebrated and tolerated. Except sharing your Christian faith.

Anyone can go to Heaven if they have faith in Jesus Christ. No one hears that message when they are watching the Smithsonian Channel or taking Spot for a walk. Would the world be less crazy if they did? Christians have a lot to learn about marketing from the LGBT movement.

Christians are one of the most persecuted groups in human history, beginning with Christ’s execution by the Roman state. Christian persecution continues to this very day, all over the world.

You may be thinking about Saudi Arabia and China. The truth is that the United States is also not always welcoming either. The Institute for Jewish & Community Research polled 1,269 college faculty members in 2007. 53% of professors openly admitted to having a bias against Evangelical Christians. This means that any evangelical Christian – including those who want to teach in public schools – starts college at a disadvantage. Evangelical Professors? If you want tenure, you had better keep quiet. That was fifteen years ago. It has only gotten worse since the rise of ‘woke.’

We have special recognition for Gay Pride Month, Black History Month, Earth Day, etc. Christians can turn it around by fighting like these other groups have. We need tolerance for Christian ideas. How about Christian Acceptance Month?

We could start with schools. The Bible tells us: “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Every K-12 classroom could be adorned with a large cross, designating a safe space for Christian students. Every morning could start with an opportunity for prayer, even if just in solidarity with believers. Youngsters are making a lot of their own choices now. Perhaps the schools could start telling their students that they have a choice to put their faith in Jesus Christ. If the child belongs to a bigoted, anti-Christian home, their secret can be kept safe at school. Bibles and Christian books can replace ‘Gender Queer’ in the libraries. This would all be for one month a year.

Christians could also make our mark on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion industry. Most major universities and corporations have a related office with staff making well over six figures per year. Christians could take over these offices and discipline discriminatory anti-Christian professors, while promoting acceptance of Christ at universities and in the workplace. After all, shouldn’t Christians be included in the Inclusion movement?

The entertainment industry would also be a great place to promote Christian inclusion. Disney employees openly admit to promoting political agendas in kids’ films. (Did you see the new ‘woke’ Buzz Lightyear movie? Not many people did.) Surely there is room for Christian messages in films too. And if companies won’t work with us? There are 250 million Christians in the United States, surely that could be a powerful coalition.

If these suggestions were attempted, there would be a gnashing of teeth and chaos would erupt. Lawsuits would be filed everywhere. There is no tolerance, from the left, for Christian ideas and principles.

Is putting Christianity in schools, workplaces, and movies aggressive? No more so than the secular ‘woke’ religions that live there now. The left is very dedicated to stopping anything religious in school. It’s okay to have stories by Drag Queens and talk about anything sexual, but little ones might be damaged if they hear about Christ and the Ten Commandments.

There is a spiritual war going on and only one side is fighting. It is time for Christians to take bold action. Our future depends on it.
