The Power of Prayer Can Beat Any Attack Ad

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:6-7

It is election season again. Many friends have written to tell me about the hateful attack ads that are running all over YouTube and TV.

I wanted to share this beautiful letter from a constituent in Walkertown. This letter is a firm reminder that God has a plan for us and that He is always in control.

All of the attack ads and campaign dollars in the world will never beat the power of a single prayer. I want to thank all of my supporters who have taken the time to pray for me. I am praying for each of you as well. -JK

Dear Senator Krawiec:

I hope this email finds you and your staff safe and well as you go about your personal business legislative business on the behalf of the citizens of Davie and Forsyth counties in the midst of this confusing and trying time.

I am simply writing to express my support for you. In recent months I have received as many as 3 mailing advertisements in my mailbox and have seen almost as many similar ads and articles on Facebook expressing disagreement against your actions as a senator and encouraging your removal from office. This type of mailings are such a waste of resources by political action groups of money that could certainly be put to much better use than smear campaigns.

I was becoming quite frustrated and angry as I received yet another mailing yesterday and yet again this morning saw another Facebook article posted by Cardinal and Pine, when a thought occurred to me. In the book of Genesis, years after his brothers sold him into Egyptian slavery, he comes face to face with him as he alone can decide their fate in the middle of a famine. Instead of behaving in a revengeful manner, he responds to them by saying, “But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.”

Joseph allowed God to use Him to turn evil efforts against him into a positive outcome. So, Senator Krawiec, from this moment forward, each time I receive a mailing or come across an anti-Krawiec ad, I plan to stop and pray for strength, wisdom, guidance, and good health for you as you serve the public as well as for those who seek to remove you from office by *hook or crook* that their efforts would not be fruitful. You will be thoroughly bathed in prayer.
