Common sense is dead and I don’t think CPR can bring it back. Divine intervention is the only hope we have.
When I think things can’t get any crazier, they get crazier. Last week I wrote about the difference between men and women. There are many who argue one can be whatever one likes. It is all up to the individual to choose the gender you prefer.
I also told you about the folks who think they are “non human”. Well, the Nonhuman Rights Project had a taste of reality hit recently. This group has been trying to establish “legal personhood” for great apes, elephants, dolphins and whales. Also included in the group is Happy the Elephant at the Bronx zoo. The New York Court of Appeals ruled 5-2 that an elephant cannot be a person. One has to wonder what two of these appeals court judges were smoking.
Hopefully this decision will stop the movement that people can self identify as animals. If we can self identify as whatever we like, why not.
We even saw a nominee to the United States Supreme Court say that since she was not a biologist, she couldn’t give the definition of a woman. So that’s what biologists are studying all those years for. Amazing.
You’ve heard it said, that a lie can travel around the world before the truth can get its shoes on. Well, I think a lie told often enough, soon becomes the truth that “everybody knows.” Perhaps that’s what’s going on. This craziness gets repeated so often that pretty soon, it’s just what everybody knows. We have to nip it in the bud.
A California court ruled recently that bumblebees are actually fish and therefore are protected under the Endangered Species Act. I’m still trying to find the transcript from this crazy hearing. It had to be an interesting conversation. Do courts not have more engaging, important things to do?
Saul’s Newsstand had some interesting, common sense points that I think are useful.
If you leave the gate open, the cow will wander off. So if you intentionally leave the gate open, you want the cow to wander off.
If you cut police budgets, you get more crime on the streets. So if you intentionally cut police budgets, you want more crime on the streets.
If you cut the supply of oil, gas prices will go up. So if you intentionally cut the supply of oil, you wanted gas prices to go up.
If you leave the southern border open, you get more drug trafficking and human trafficking. So if you intentionally leave the border open, you want more drug trafficking and human trafficking.
If you shut down 40% of the supply of baby formula, you’ll get a shortage. So if you intentionally shut down a plant that produces 40% of formula, you want this crisis to happen.
If you print trillions of dollars without increasing the supply of goods, inflation will hit hard. So if you intentionally print trillions of dollars, you wanted inflation to hit hard.
If you shut down clean oil production in the United States, more oil is produced in countries without clean energy production. So if you intentionally shut down production in the U.S., you wanted this to happen. (By the way, how does this enhance a cleaner environment?)
The Secretary of Transportation, Pete Buttiegieg, has the answer for high gas prices. We should all buy electric cars. That shows a complete lack of common sense. Ordinary citizens who cannot afford the gas, cannot afford a $50,000 car. Do these brainiacs not know that 90% of the electricity to power these cars comes from coal? Which they are also trying to eliminate. Not only do they have no common sense, they are complete hypocrites.
America is still the shining city of the hill. We are the last great hope of the world. That’s why so many risk their lives to come here. We are not as good as we used to be, even 2 years ago. Gas was $2.00 per gallon, inflation was non-existent and babies had plenty of formula.
We desperately need new leadership at the helm. Someone with common sense is the best attribute.
