“My Prayer”

I pray that when I arrive in heaven there will be lots of fan fare and I’ll be greeted by my Savior with a hearty hug and a smile and he will say, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”  But what I fear is that I will be greeted and held accountable for my actions here on earth and God will say:

Did you really do all that you could to preserve the freedoms that I gave you?

Did you do everything in your power to stop the immorality, pornography, drug abuse and all the cultural things that were destroying your society?

Did you protect the sanctity of innocent life?

Did you stand up and speak on my behalf when society decided that I could no longer have a presence in public places?

Did you use the talents and gifts that I provided for the completion of the tasks that I set out for you to accomplish?

When you talked to me, I listened. But when I talked to you, did you remain still and quiet long enough for me to answer?

Did you promote peace as far as possible, but then stand as a warrior when these efforts failed?

Did you close your ears to idle gossip and refuse to participate?

Did you do all in your power to promote, defend and protect the family unit?

Did you tell me you had big problems, or did you tell your problems you had a Big God?

When Satan called did you hang up or say, “Jesus will you get that?”

This list could go on for eternity.  We all have fallen short of the glory of God.

I intend to answer all of the above in the affirmative. I’m not there yet, but still working on it. God is very patient.  Hopefully he will allow me enough time to “get the job done”.  I will then be ready for the grand party with all the fan fare.
